Tiny House in a Landscape

Tiny House in a Landscape

This weeks Tiny House in a Landscape is a beautiful old stone house in the mountains. The picture is a wall paper that David found and set to me. You can get the high resolution file for a wallpaper here.

Unfortunately there is not any information about the photo so you will have to get creative as far as it’s origin. I am trying to decide if it is located in the southwest or over in Europe. If you know the history of this old stone house, please share it with us in the comment section. read more

Glenn’s Designer Off-Grid Micro-Home

Glenn's Designer Off-Grid Micro-Home

by Glen Grassi

I just finished designing and building my first micro-home. I am a theatrical designer who has taken a detour this year to build something sustainable. It is made almost entirely out of repurposed and recycled materials.

It is 12 ft. X 7 ft. with a 3 ft. tow hitch. The interior is cedar-lined and has a wood burning stove, designer interior, stand-up shower inside the bed, lots of storage, composting toilet hidden in the chair, solar chandelier and gravity water.

It is built simply with simple parts and is easy to care for. It seats 4-6 people inside for dinner. read more

Tracey Powell’s Modern, Tiny, Blissful Waves on Wheels

Tracey Powell's Modern, Tiny, Blissful Waves on Wheels

At first glance, Tracey’s house looks like it just returned in time from an episode of “Back to The Tiny House Future”. Honestly, we have never seen anything like it and her story is just as original as her vision. If your taste leans towards Modern Minimalist and you’re not a fan of all the barn wood encrusted, cabin-like tiny houses you’ve seen, you’ll LOVE the ideas and materials she has incorporated in her ultra-modern tiny house on wheels. External insulation? Yep! TWO breaker boxes? Check! A porch and stairs to dream about? Got it! An Incinolet toilet? It’s in there. Listen in this week while we chat about how her new life is everything she dreamed about while growing up in an RV with her family. Now THERE’s a storyline twist we didn’t expect. read more

Touring by Tiny House & Mule

This is a wonderful story of a man one his second trip across America in his mule drawn wagon. Bernie Harberts of River Earth recently downsized from a 60 square foot wagon to a lightweight 21 square foot home. If often wondered how successful it would be to weld up a simple angle iron frame for a tiny house. Now I know because that’s exactly what Bernie did. Then he sandwiched some foam board between plywood and attached it to his frame. The result was a very lightweight and cozy tiny home. Read the entire story on Tiny House Blog. read more

Single Hauz

Single Hauz

I couldn’t find too many details (like a floor plan) on this tiny house concept from Poland but the pictures say a lot. Basically the idea is that this billboard inspired house could be place almost anywhere and is intended to a single person or couple to live in. I think its a really interesting way of thinking outside the box.

I suspect this tiny house concept was designed mostly for fun by these young Polish architects; in fact they even provide a paper cut-out version (see below). Download (PDF) the original paper cut-out version. Photo credit Front Architects. read more
